VARIETY: 100% Verdejo
ELABORATION PROCESS: Made from a selection of the best Verdejo grapes from goblet-pruned vines over 40 years-oldd. The grapes are picked by hand into 15 kg capacity crates, then fermented and aged on the lees in French "Allier" oak bordelais casks for 6 months. It is straw yellow in colour, with golden highlights and, on the nose, hints of vanilla and healthland herbs. In the mouth, it is rich due to careful lees contact and has notes of dried fruits and nuts and the toasted nuances characteristic of the cask ageing.
THE WINE: In 1972 Vinos de los Herederos del Marqués de Riscal were pioneers and the driving force behind the setting up of the Rueda appellation, making fresh, fruit wines to satisfy the new trend in ineternational tastes. A new style of wine that is only possible in respects all the aromas which are locked up inside the different grapes varieties capable of producing its best Vivid Sensations has been obtained.
TASTING NOTES: This wine makes a good pairing with fish prepared in a sauce, white meat, even with sauces if they are not too strong, roast lamb. sautéed vegetables and pulse dishes, etc.
