VARIETY: 100% Verdejo
DESCRIPTION: A different Verdejo from D.O. Rueda; coming from centennial vineyards, it is a great surprise when you move the glass towards your nose fascinating your palate.
WINERY AND VINEYARDS: Avelino Vegas S.A. controls more than 600 Hectares of vineyard, located mainly in the area of Segovia, where it has placed its winery. About 90 Ha. of them are old vines; nearly century-old. In this area the vineyards are small, between 1 and 3 Hectares. The most cultivated variety is Verdejo and the longevity of these vines contributes to elaborate wines with a great complexity of aromas and good structure.
ELABORATION: This wine is elaborated with grapes from old vines from the villages of Moraleja, Aldeanueva, Codorniz and Santiuste (all in Segovia), harvested by hand at their optimum ripeness. A slight cold maceration infuses the must with all the varietal aromas. Fermented at low temperature (12 º C), the wine rests finally with its fine lees, to achieve that smoothness on the palate that makes it unique.
TASTING NOTE: Straw yellow color, pale, very bright. On the nose it displays aromas of exotic fruits, white flowers and varietal aromas. In the mouth it is fresh and greedy, with a gentle swallow, silky and with a fragrant and long aftertaste.
RECOMMENDATIONS: Ideal for all types of fish dishes, especially any kind of cod preparation. It also pairs well with seafood and rice dishes. Very good harmony with red meat carpaccio and all feathered game.
